Inline Design Material Lab Results

The material we use is tested regularly to confirm it meets Grade 316 by a third party lab, Metal Test Inc. The method used is Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) which determines the specific elemental constituents of an alloy by showing the exact percentage of each element present in the test sample. This test method is an ideal choice for applications where knowing the exact, quantitative breakdown of solid material is required.

OES is performed by heating gate surface of the test material until it emits light. The emitted light is collected and then dispersed via prism. The resultant spectrum reveals the presence of specific elements by their characteristic wavelengths. The intensity of the elemental wavelength is measured to determine the ratio of the element to the rest of the alloy.
